Tongue tie

Tongue tie, or ankyloglossia, is a congenital condition in which the lingual frenulum—the band of tissue connecting the underside of the tongue to the floor of the mouth—is abnormally short, thick, or tight. This condition can restrict tongue movement, potentially affecting feeding, speech, and oral hygiene.

Post-Treatment Care :

• Gentle tongue exercises to prevent reattachment and improve movement.
• Breastfeeding support if the procedure is performed in infants.
• Speech therapy if necessary for children with speech difficulties.
• Pain management with mild analgesics if needed.

Tongue tie can impact feeding, speech, and oral function at different stages of life.
